What is Sleeve Gastrectomy?

What is Sleeve Gastrectomy

It is a laparoscopic procedure to reduce the stomach capacity by removing approximately 70-80% of the tissue in vertical axis.

Because it is a restrictive surgery, it provides a balanced and satisfactory weight loss by achieving adequate satiety with a small amount of food and lowering the ghrelin hormone level, while significantly reducing hunger.

Since the procedure does not drastically alter the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system, this method has become the most preferred method of bariatric surgery both in Turkey and around the world.

Transit Bipartition (Type 2 Diabetic Surgery)

Transit Bipartition (Type 2 Diabetic Surgery)

Nowadays we see a significant increase in the number of diabetics. Especially in patients who have BMI over 30 and pay special attention to their diets, yet despite their insulin intake have uncontrollable blood sugar levels are suitable candidates for this procedure. If these patients already have adequate insulin reserves, after the operation their blood sugar levels drop to normal physiologic levels without having need to take insulin.

In other words these patients are suitable for surgical treatment. We use transit bipartition technique, which is one of the most preferred methods in the world today, by using advanced technology with laparoscopic surgical technique.

What is Gastric Bypass?

What is Gastric Bypass

It is a surgical procedure that provides weight loss both through minimizing (restricting) gastric capacity and disabling a certain portion of the small intestine (disrupting absorption).

Because the gastric bypass surgery performed with the laparoscopic method provides control over type 2 diabetes more effectively, it is the prominent method of bariatric surgery for obese patients with type 2 diabetes.

What is Gastric Balloon?

What is Gastric Balloon

This procedure is advised for individuals whose BMIs are in between 25 and 35, and who have failed to lose weight through diets and exercise. Gastric balloon is a balloon which is placed in the stomach through endoscopy. Due to the amount of space it takes within the stomach, the patient experiences the feeling of being full while eating less than before. As a result, patients start losing weight through eating less.

The procedure takes about 20 minutes to complete. The adjustable balloon remains in the stomach for 12 months.
